Get the Most Out of Your
Baseball Batting Training

Wood baseball bat batting training

Get the most out of your baseball batting training and become the best batter on your team. Improve you technique through these drills and tips.

As we all know, baseball is a two-way game, offense and defence. Since this site is about wood bats, we’ll stay focused and concentrate on baseball batting training.

We want to help you become a better hitter. There’s lots of ways to get better but we’ve narrowed them down to the 3 most important factors, they are :

PRACTICE – PRACTICE – PRACTICE

The only way to improve is through serious and dedicated training and, more seriously, the 3 most important things are:

1 – Develop a solid technique

2 – Execute drills for polishing that technique

3 – Get good tips on what to expect from the pitcher depending on the different play situations when you go to the plate

4 - Take good intense batting practices

TECHNIQUE

So, the first thing you have to concentrate on in your baseball batting training is developing a good technique. This will guarantee that you’ll be consistent and also that when you get into a temporary slump (we all do), you’ll be able to get back to the basics and fall back on the technique you’ve developed to start hitting those line drives again.

DRILLS

The second thing you need to do in your baseball bating training is to work on the coordination of the different parts of your body so that you hit the ball on the sweet spot most of the time. That’s the name of the game.

As you know, coaches and scouts are looking for batters making good solid contacts. It doesn’t matter if the defensive players catch that hard hit ball or not, they know that the guy getting those solid contacts regularly have the potential to make it all the way through professional baseball.

That’s the sound they’re looking for and that’s melody to their ears. By practicing the following drills, you’ll then fill-up their ears with that sound.

TIPS

Next on the list of your baseball batting training is to include the part that has nothing to do with your physical abilities. We’re talking about the mind game that’s taking place between you and the pitcher every time you step at the plate.

This mind game is even higher when some special situations occur during the course of a game depending on the score, the inning etc. At that time, you even have the opposite team coaches joining in and then, you’re still all by yourself.

At that very time, it is of the most importance that you perfectly master your technique because you’ve got a lot to concentrate on, other than thinking about your front foot or your left elbow. You need everything you have so you can hit that ball hard.

BATTING PRACTICE

Last and most important, you have to swing that bat so a good baseball batting practice as often as you can will enable you to forge that swing. That is where you execute what you've learned in the other three topics above.

There's only one way to get better and I guess that you know what it is:

PRACTICE – PRACTICE – PRACTICE

We can’t obviously cover everything here. the baseball batting training is a science by itself and the more aspects of it you practice, the better you’ll be.

Just reference yourself with the Pros, they've each developed and mastered theirs and they still take batting practice almost every day.
